The first institute of its kind in the Middle East Full ownership of the Egyptian Government
Establishment date :
  • The institute was opened in 1983 in Luxor governorate, It is under the management and supervision of The Egyptian General Company for Tourism & Hotels (EGOTH). It offers 2 years studying.
  • The institute accepts students who have general secondary school, AL Azhar Secondary school, commercial secondary school, Agricultural Secondary school and Artificial secondary school- students learn their Lessons theoretically and practically, Followed by training in famous Hotels For 6 months. After graduation, students can join Higher Institutes or Tourism & Hotels Faculties.
Period of the study :
  • Two academic years full-day system.
  • Student is granted the certificate of Tourist Guide Diploma recognized by the Higher Education Ministry in accordance with Resolution no 500 on24/8/1991
Sections :
  • The institute has three sections (Room Division Department - Restaurant & Bar department - Kitchen Department)
The institute accepts who have :
  • Baccalaureate and it's equivalent of technical diploma(Agricultural - industrial- commercial)
Features of the study at the institute:
The graduates can get jobs at great hotels in Egypt, Arab, European countries, America. The Institute’s certificate is allowing you to complete the study and to enroll at the Egyptian public and private universities through the coordination office. An elite selection of faculty members and university professors teaching theoretical, practical and technical subjects. Training and study within the institute throughout the studying period. Training in the five-star hotels owned by the company during the pregraduation year. The Institute postpones the military service and the certificate reduces its period.
    First phase
  • Initial academic year is 36 weeks including the tests. And this phase aims to teach the theoretical foundations to specialization subjects and apply the practical application to the practical lessons approved by the administration in addition to the material from the first and second class.
    • Second phase
  • The second year is 8 months including the tests. And this phase aims to train students in different hotels & resorts before graduation in addition to the practical study. The duration of practical training is 3 full months in the governorates of Cairo- Alexandria- Sharm Elsheihk – Hurghada – Marsa Alam- Luxor- Aswan-Northern Coast.

    • The student age should not exceed 22 years and those who led the military service or is exempted not more than 25 years
    • For female students, the age should not be more than 25 years
    • Fluent in English and French.
    • Pass all the tests held by the company in languages.
